The wake up Call

Many of you ask me where the inspiration for my dolls comes from. Hard question! Where does anything come from?

Alright, without taking you too deep into the rabbit hole: most of the time they are spontaneous creations. Sometimes they begin with a drawing, a vision, a dream, or simply by sewing different parts together. Sometimes they only truly arrive at the very end, when the eyes come.

Yes, actually, every time I embroider the eyes, I feel them more deeply.

With Tzefira, the process was slow.


I started by finding this crazy fabric in a second-hand
shop (most of our fabrics are either recycled or organic—I avoid buying new polyester-ish fabric whenever possible). When I saw this fabric, I wondered what Mystical Doll would come from it. So I started sewing her parts. Then I went to Vipassana, and she remained unfinished on my desk for a looong time. Until one day I looked at her and knew: Time to finish you.

Meanwhile, my dear Sig showed me a picture of a painting called Sophia from Lukebrownart and said that this Mystical Doll reminded him of her. That was a clue to who she was! Sometimes it is through other people that their names, stories, and messages come alive. For me, that was a hint: whoever was coming carried a deep knowing of Feminine Wisdom.


And now I know.

Her name was not Clarity, nor Sophia. Her name is Tzefira, the Wake up Call!

She carries that kind of Clarity before which all doubts fall to the ground.

Great Feminine Wisdom that opens when the HeartMind awakens.

Unshakable peace and trust.

The mudra in her hands is for Clarity, it is called Buddhi Mudra.

Then I embroidered her many eyes, placed her heart, and when I looked at her I felt Clarity.

Indeed, I was in a moment of great clarity myself. I received the message that Clarity happens when the relationship with fear changes, and instead of numbing it, running from it, hating it, we become available to feel it, looking it in the eyes. Clarity as the other side of fear. I am still learning that message, embodying it, and understanding it myself. I would be glad to talk more about this with those of you who have more to say about it!

Well, I looked at her, and she needed wings.

She then started to look like an angel. But still, I felt she was something else, not a fairy, not an angel.

What was she?

Later, I found an earring whose pair I had lost. I usually keep little beautiful things that might find a new life on the Mystical Dolls. When I saw it, I knew it had to become her crown. And with that, I felt she was done! The very last touch was adding two more white feathers to her wings.

I only use naturally shed feathers that I collect during my walks in nature. Every feather is carefully cleaned and sanitized before use.

This means no feathers are purchased or taken from animals.
